SMCPS’ goal is that all students will graduate college and career ready.  With the end in mind, SMCPS has set an additional goal that every student will graduate with a positive experience with digital learning.  As a grant recipient, SMCPS was able to integrate Apex Learning digital curricula into student learning.  Our high schools have reallocated its resources to ensure that our students have access to and interface with digital content.  In order to personalize learning, our schools have instituted a program that incorporates a team of staff to create a customize program of learning all supported with ongoing professional development.

Digital learning occurs in a variety of modes. Classroom labs have been assigned for digital learning classrooms.  Each school provides access before, during, and after school.  The curricula are available for teachers to integrate into their classrooms as additional resource in a blended learning model. Students can recover grades by completing aligned units of study beyond the classroom.   Students taking approved courses for original credit are assigned to the computer lab where a certificated content teacher is assigned to support and monitor student progression.
